I have never have a requirements to remove the SQL Server Analysis Services instance before, up to yesterday. When i faced up with removing the SSAS instance for the first time i didn’t know that this is not so easy. I was not able to uinstall this instance through the standard setup wizzard. Finally i have find the solution, but it was not so easy to find this. It turned out that if you want to remove SSAS instance you need to run the SQL Server setup from command line with the parameters.
The corrent command is:
D:\setup.exe /ACTION=uninstall /FEATURES=AS /INSTANCENAME=YOUR_INSTANCE_NAME
Again, simple, but not so obvius and not so easy to find.
